UPDATE: EMSB TO HAVE LIVE WEBCAST MONDAY, MAY 13 AT 7:00 PM FOR SPECIAL BOARD MEETING
The English Montreal School Board  Council of Commissioners will hold a special meeting on Monday, May 13 (7 pm) at 6000 Fielding Avenue in NDG. This is in reaction to Quebec  Education Minister Jean-Francois Roberge's announcement that he is prepared to use section 477.1.1 of the Education Act to "accelerate the transfer" of three youth sector schools to the Commission scolaire de la Pointe-de-l'île. This meeting will be broadcast live on the EMSB website at www.emsb.qc.ca

In a letter sent to EMSB Chairman Angela Mancini, he stated that the schools he wishes to transfer to the CSPI for the 2019-2020 academic year are Gerald McShane Elementary in Montreal North and General Vanier Elementary and John Paul I Junior High School in St. Léonard.

The EMSB has until June 10 to give its feedback to the Minister on a number of issues involving such a move. The Council of Commissioners will hold a special meeting on this subject on Monday night, May 13 (7 pm) at 6000 Fielding Avenue.

EMSB Chairman, Angela Mancini held a press conference on Friday, May 10, at General Vanier Elementary School.
